About the opportunity
Join QIAGEN's software engineering team in Cluj and help deliver high-quality digital solutions that support healthcare and life science innovation worldwide. In this role, you will drive quality through automation, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of complex software systems. Working closely with software engineers, product teams, and DevOps specialists, you will embed quality throughout the development lifecycle and contribute to products where accuracy, trust, and compliance are critical.
Your tasks:

Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications, APIs, and backend services

Partner with software engineers and product teams to define effective quality strategies from the earliest stages of development

Implement and execute automated functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test scenarios
-
Validate complex data processing workflows and distributed system behaviour to ensure reliable product performance

Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and rapid feedback cycles
-
Analyse test results, identify root causes of defects, and collaborate with engineering teams to drive resolution

Promote best practices in quality engineering, automation, testability, and continuous improvement
Your profile:
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
-
Minimum 4 years of experience in QA Automation, Software Testing, or Software Engineering with a strong automation focus

Hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, RestAssured, or comparable technologies
-
Strong programming skills in Java, TypeScript, Scala, or another object-oriented language used for test automation
-
Experience testing web applications, APIs, and backend services in agile development environments
-
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git-based development workflows, and test automation integration practices

Experience with cloud technologies, distributed systems, performance testing, or regulated environments is considered an advantage
