at MillenWorks
About This Role
We believe people should love what they do, and this position provides an opportunity to do just that.
This position will be part of the Systems Integration and Test (SIT) Engineering team focusing on supporting the Ship-to-Shore Connector (SSC) Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC), next generation hovercraft program. Primary duties would be supporting the rollout of production crafts into testing; troubleshooting a variety of multi-discipline, complex issues throughout testing and systems integration; driving continuous improvement through feedback to design/quality/manufacturing and root cause analysis (RCA); and supporting fielded crafts in concert with our Navy customer.
You will be part of highly skilled, multi-discipline engineering team and, as such, will need the ability to effectively interface and communicate with other team members and across engineering disciplines. This also extends out to the broader team of pilots, test conductors, technicians, and other engineering groups. You will have the opportunity to travel and to contribute to the effectiveness and reliability of systems that are saving lives and protecting our warfighters.
Responsibilities
- Review engineering system designs: models, drawings, design intents, and specifications for assessment of systems
- Support the Navy customer to maximize uptime and minimize recurrence of issues.
- Create, maintain, and communicate thorough technical documentation on all efforts
- Analyze and maintain interface control documents and other technical documents required to troubleshoot the craft
- Familiarize and analyze applicable MIL-STD, MIL-DTL, MIL-HDBK, and similar standards documentation related to SSC design
- Attend meetings to deliver, schedule, and review technical status
- Independently assess complex issues crossing multiple craft systems
- Apply methodical processes and documentation to resolve issues
- Analyze electrical, mechanical drawings, and apply data to ongoing troubleshooting
- Analyze textual vendor and customer documentation and apply to ongoing troubleshooting
- Develop imaginative, thorough, practicable technical solutions to a wide range of difficult system-of-systems problems
- Serve as a technical resource to others within the work group, department, and the organization.
- Conduct liaison activities with subcontractors and external manufacturers, as well as internal and external customers at all levels.
