Are you a commercially minded maritime professional with a passion for fleet optimisation, contract negotiations, and strategic vessel sourcing?
Höegh Autoliners is seeking a highly motivated Chartering Manager to play a key role in ensuring that our fleet capacity remains aligned with market opportunities, customer demand, and long-term strategic objectives.
In this role, you will lead chartering activities across our global network, providing strategic recommendations on vessel sourcing, charter-in and charter-out opportunities, and fleet deployment alternatives. You will work closely with Global Trade Network, Trade Management, Finance, Operations, and Executive Management to ensure optimal utilisation of our fleet while balancing cost, flexibility, and service reliability.
Where will you be channeling your efforts and expertise?

Lead and execute vessel chartering activities, including charter-in, charter-out, and execute vessel acquisition activities supporting Hoegh Autoliners’ overall strategy

Monitoring and analysing global vessel markets, including chartering activity, sale and purchase (S&P), newbuilding developments, and recycling trends.

Identifying opportunities and risks within the vessel market and translating these into actionable recommendations for management.

Develop chartering strategies that support Höegh Autoliners' short-, medium-, and long-term network and capacity requirements.

Conduct financial and operational analyses of chartering opportunities, ensuring alignment with company objectives and risk appetite.

Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, shipowners, financial institutions, and key industry stakeholders.
But that's not all – you'll also be instrumental in shaping the future of our fleet strategy.
As a key member of the Global Trade Network organisation, you will contribute to the ongoing development of our fleet and network capabilities through data- driven decision-making, market insight, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will help ensure that fleet capacity remains aligned with evolving customer demand, operational requirements, and Höegh Autoliners' strategic growth ambitions.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

Bachelor's degree; a Master's degree is an advantage.

Extensive experience in vessel operations, trade management, and vessel chartering.

Analytical, commercially minded, and able to make sound decisions in a dynamic market.

Strong experience within vessel chartering, vessel operations, trade management, or related maritime commercial functions.

In-depth knowledge of chartering processes, charter party agreements, and vessel sale and purchase activities.

Strong commercial- and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market intelligence into business decisions.

Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.

A structured, proactive, and self-driven approach to managing complex commercial opportunities.

The ability to collaborate effectively across functions, cultures, and geographies.
