Defense Contracts Specialist

The Defense Contract Specialist is responsible for overseeing all contracts functions and agreements; pre-award, quoting, negotiations and post-award transactions relating to the processing of U.S. Government solicitations or RFQ (Request for Quote)
What will you be responsible for:
- Research Government sites for new open solicitations, including working with GOV agencies for continuous updated material.
- Review of all new RFQs and RFPs for special requirements prior to the processing of the vendor quote.
- Receive written quote from Sr. Defense Contract Administrator.
- Electronically file bids to GOV buying commands.
- Coordinate with GOV buying commands for amendments to solicitations, when required.
- Coordinate with GOV buying commands regarding the issuance of contract modifications.
- Maintain all open GOV quote folders.
- Work cooperatively with other members of the Defense group to ensure the highest service level possible.
- This includes actively participating in group meetings/project teams and consistently striving to improve the organization.
- Ensure that department procedures are understood and followed.
- All other duties assigned.
