Account Supervisor, Crisis & Issues

As an Account Supervisor, Crisis & Issues at Zeno, you will support crisis communications, issues management and corporate affairs programs for leading organizations across industries. Working closely with senior communications leaders, clients and cross-functional teams, you will help develop strategies, manage programs and deliver communications that protect reputation, build stakeholder trust and support business objectives.

This role is ideal for a communications professional who enjoys both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You'll have the opportunity to guide client programs, contribute to crisis and issues management strategies, mentor junior team members and help organizations navigate evolving communications challenges.

About the Role:

  • Crisis & Issues Management: Support the development and execution of crisis communications and issues management programs that help clients prepare for, respond to and navigate complex situations.

  • Media Relations & Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and execute media relations strategies, building relationships with business, trade and industry media while supporting stakeholder engagement efforts.

  • Strategic Counsel & Client Management: Serve as a trusted day-to-day client contact, providing recommendations, managing project execution and supporting communications strategies that drive business and reputational outcomes.

  • Industry Intelligence & Risk Monitoring: Monitor industry trends, competitive activity and emerging issues that may impact clients, helping teams identify risks and opportunities early.

  • Content Development & Communications Materials: Develop communications materials including messaging frameworks, media materials, executive communications, bylined articles, blogs and other stakeholder-facing content.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Support and mentor junior team members while contributing to a collaborative environment where people can learn, grow and do their best work.

  • Business Development & Practice Growth: Contribute to new business efforts, proposal development and thought leadership initiatives that help strengthen Zeno's Crisis & Issues capabilities.

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications or related fields within an agency or other fast-paced environment.

  • 3+ of those years should be supporting corporate affairs, crisis communications, issues management, public affairs or related communications disciplines.

  • Experience developing and executing communications programs that support business and reputational objectives.

  • Strong understanding of crisis communications, issues management and stakeholder engagement strategies.

  • Experience building relationships with media and securing meaningful coverage.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with experience developing communications plans, media materials, executive communications and thought leadership content.

  • Experience managing client relationships and serving as a day-to-day client contact.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills with experience contributing to client recommendations and strategic discussions.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with experience managing multiple priorities and timelines.

  • Ability to think strategically and contribute ideas that help solve complex communications challenges.

  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.

  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for communications, problem solving and team success.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting crisis preparedness, response planning or issues monitoring programs.

  • Experience working across multiple geographies, stakeholder groups or highly regulated industries.

  • Experience contributing to new business efforts or agency thought leadership initiatives.

  • Established relationships with business, trade or industry media.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000 USD/yr.

An employee 's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region- specific benefits.
