Oil, Gas, & Mineral Management Officer

JOB FUNCTION:
Responsibilities include the management of the Department's mineral assets, whether in trust or as agent for Jefferson Bank clients. This role may also serve as lead trust officer for select trusts holding significant minerals. Additionally, this role will require significant client interaction with an expectation of developing strong working relationships, navigating Jefferson Bank clients through management of their minerals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead lease negotiations, perform in-depth research and royalty audits, advise clients on oil, gas and mineral title issues, pooling and unitization, community leases, and matters related to undivided mineral ownership and leasehold estates.
- Manage the accounts and assets in accordance with the governing document, applicable legal and regulatory requirements, bank policies and procedures, and in collaboration with internal team members and external service providers as appropriate.
- Focus on serving the trust and fiduciary needs of clients as a single point of contact and will be responsible for monitoring the client base for opportunities to leverage existing relationships.
- Monitor and control risk in all aspects of account and asset administration
- Use knowledge and experience to ensure that all transactions are in compliance with the trust or agency agreement, applicable laws, and internal policies
- Establish and maintain client contact. Act as primary point of contact for client and intermediaries, including accountants, attorneys, and other service providers as required
- Consolidate/analyze financial data, and create Oil/Gas Annual Review
- Analyze and maintain all lease and contract records to ensure accurate reporting data
- Review oil and gas agreements and title information to verify, calculate and change ownership interests
- Import and analyze of Oil and Gas data from Texas Railroad Commission, mineral management software, and client royalty checks; create related excel spreadsheets for royalty/working interest audits
- Responsible for analyzing and mapping client mineral ownership, identification of wells, lease boundaries for utilization in client presentations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience
- 5-7 years' experience as a Landman, Trust Officer (with mineral management responsibility) or comparable experience in the oil and gas industry
- Experience managing oil and gas interests
- Working knowledge of calculation of working; net revenue, royalty and overriding interests, Oil and Gas leases, mineral interest ownership, easements, Joint Operating Agreements, Pooling Orders
- Banking or other financial workplace experience

- High school diploma
- Four-year degree from accredited university
Equipment/Machines/Software
- Experience with MS Office, Word and Excel
