Credit Analyst III

JOB FUNCTION

Analyze, format, and communicate information on new and existing loans to identify credit risks. Supervise junior team members and provide underwriting support to the commercial lending department.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the training of junior credit analysts; this will include reviewing work and offering feedback
  • Supervise employees in the absence of, or in conjunction with, the department head
  • Analyze personal and business financial information as well as entity ownership structures to understand creditworthiness of proposed loan
  • Prepare credit approval requests, debt and deposit recaps, financial spreadsheets, cash flow analysis, written memorandums, and other necessary analysis to relay information to senior management in a timely manner
  • Assist loan officers in gathering and relaying information between the Bank and its customers
  • Attend meetings with customers, loan officers and senior management regularly

** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

**Experience Required **

  • Five years of experience utilizing practices common in this field to include spreading of various types of financial statements and an understanding of cash flow analysis

**Preferred Work Experience **

  • Five plus years of experience in the credit department of a bank, with community bank experience preferred

**Supervisory Experience **

  • Experience supervising and training junior credit analysts preferred

Education/Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, preferably with a Finance or Accounting major
  • Strong writing, communication and analytical skills are required
  • Typing 40-wpm and 10-Key experience preferred

**Equipment/Machines/Software **

  • Excellent computer literacy in all Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and Adobe Reader
  • Personal computer
  • Ability to work with office equipment such as phone system, 10- key calculator, telephone, copiers, scanners, shredders, fax
  • Preferred experience with Mood's Financial Analyst/CreditLens and Jack Henry Silverlake

Competency Requirements

  • Must be able to hear and speak to communicate with customers
  • Ability to solve complex software problems and make valid recommendations
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to shift priorities and follow assigned tasks through completion
  • Ability to work independently and innovatively with minimal supervision
  • Must have high attention to detail with ability to focus on assigned tasks
  • Must be accustomed to a fast-paced office environment
  • Must be attentive with the ability to work under time constraints
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit for most of the day in front of a computer
  • Must be able to type on a keyboard
  • Must be able to speak to and hear customers
  • Must be able to read a laptop/desktop computer monitor
  • Must be able to be mobile in an office environment
