Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant
Pay Rate: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Job Summary
The Medical Assistant supports Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), Registered Nurses (RNs), and Providers in the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position assists with routine clinic activities, patient preparation, and clinical procedures while adhering to universal precautions, confidentiality standards, and all organizational policies. The Medical Assistant may be assigned to any AccessHealth clinic location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Escort patients to available exam rooms and prepare them for visits
- Obtain and document patient chief complaints and vital signs
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records
- Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and procedures as directed
- Perform waived laboratory testing and assist with procedures per provider direction
- Perform phlebotomy duties as required by clinic site or operational needs
- Provide verbal and written translation assistance as needed
- Stock, prepare, and maintain exam rooms for patient care
- Assist with ordering and maintaining medical supplies
- Discharge patients and provide visit instructions as directed by the provider
- Schedule appointments and prepare reminder cards
- Ensure clinic areas are clean, safe, and orderly
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities
- Clean, package, autoclave instruments, and complete required documentation
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Education, Licensure, and Certification Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current Medical Assistant certification
- High school diploma or GED
- Phlebotomy certification preferred, but not required
- Minimum one year of experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Bilingual skills preferred, but not required
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
