Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Patient Access Representative to join our Patient Access team. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for patients by managing appointments, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and supporting provider schedules. You'll be the first point of contact for patients and play a key role in building trust and rapport.


Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments and accurately enter data into the system.
  • Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information.
  • Explain and obtain signatures for required forms.
  • Ensure compliance with medical necessity and authorization requirements.
  • Collect patient payments and establish payment arrangements.
  • Post payments and generate receipts.
  • Resolve patient account issues and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, families, providers, and staff.
  • Meet performance metrics and participate in team projects and meetings.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Typing proficiency required.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in a medical setting or 3 years in customer service/reception preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with office equipment and basic billing/insurance principles.
  • Willingness to work alternative shifts, weekends, and travel to multiple locations as needed.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Moderate noise level; indoor work environment.
  • May require standing, walking, sitting, and other physical activities.
  • Regular schedule may include early mornings and Saturdays based on department needs.
