Job Summary

The Server and Cloud Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization’s day-to-day server and cloud operations. This includes maintaining Windows and Linux servers, assisting with virtualization platforms, supporting Microsoft 365 services, and helping manage Active Directory/Entra ID and backup systems. The role focuses on monitoring, incident response, routine maintenance, and documentation to ensure system stability, security, and performance across on-premise and cloud environments.

Main Responsibilities

Server & Infrastructure Operations

• Perform daily server health checks, monitoring alerts, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Assist in the administration of Windows and Linux servers.
• Support virtualization environments such as VMware and/or Hyper-V.
• Assist in managing Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Support Active Directory and Entra ID administration, including user accounts, groups, device management, and policy checks.
• Assist with system patching, updates, and maintenance of configuration documentation.

Incident Management & Troubleshooting

• Provide Level 1–2 support for server and infrastructure-related incidents.
• Perform initial diagnostics and troubleshooting before escalating to senior engineers.
• Support incident resolution during outages and assist in documenting root cause findings.

Security & Compliance Support

• Assist with OS patching, antivirus checks, and basic system hardening activities.
• Support access management, file permissions, and audit log reviews.
• Follow established IT security policies and compliance standards.

Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery

• Monitor backup jobs across systems (e.g., Rubrik, M365, OCI backups).
• Assist in test restores and data recovery validation.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing and related exercises.

Cloud Operations (Azure & OCI Fundamentals)

• Support basic operational tasks in cloud environments (Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
• Assist with VM monitoring, storage checks, identity management, and resource tracking.
• Help maintain cloud inventory documentation and operational runbooks.
• Participate in training to build cloud administration skills.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain accurate system documentation, runbooks, and configuration records.
• Support change management processes by tracking updates and operational changes.
• Assist with basic scripting tasks (PowerShell/Bash) to improve operational efficiency.
• Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, server administration, or cloud operations support.

Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP concepts.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Exposure to Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint).
• Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
• Basic understanding of system monitoring and troubleshooting.

Additional Skills (Preferred)

• ITIL Foundation certification or willingness to obtain.
• Basic scripting skills (PowerShell or Bash).
• Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or OCI Foundations certification (or willingness to pursue).
• Understanding of backup systems and disaster recovery principles.
• Strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
