Commercial Lending Officer

JOB FUNCTION: __

This position will develop loan and deposit business by calling on small to middle market commercial companies, professionals and associations primarily located in the Austin and surrounding market areas. Manage the loan process including credit underwriting, loan documentation and ongoing loan portfolio management. Play an active role in the community to further develop business opportunities. Assist on an as needed basis with credit and deposit needs of an existing loan and deposit portfolio.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Call on prospective and existing clients to generate loans, deposits, and referrals to other areas of the Bank
  • Participate in community-oriented and professional organizations
  • Cross-sell bank investment, trust, deposit, residential mortgages, and other loan products
  • Analyze financial statements, underwrite credit, prepare credit memos and assist in the preparation of loan presentations
  • Ensure loans are documented and closed properly
  • Ensure loans meet all regulatory and compliance guidelines
  • Manage an existing loan and deposit portfolio
  • Present loan information to top management and board of directors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience

  • 5 years or more commercial lending experience to include business development, credit underwriting, loan documentation, and portfolio management.
  • Above work experience in the Austin market preferred
  • Ability to provide excellent relationship management and business development/sales skills
  • Thorough knowledge of bank products and services
  • Knowledge of Bank Core Systems

Supervisory Experience

  • N/A

Position includes Driving

  • Yes, valid driver's license is required

**Education/Skills/Experience **

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Credit analysis and underwriting skills
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and writing communication skills
  • Networking in commercial markets

Equipment/Machines/Software

  • Excellent computer literacy in all Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Efficiency in Adobe Reader and various internet browsers
  • Ability to work with office equipment such as copiers, scanners, shredders, fax
  • Knowledge of Mortgage processing software

Competency Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups in managing customer relationships
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to connect and networking with business owners and leaders
  • Ability to focus and interpret data to others

Physical Requirements

  • Office/Building mobility, good vision, and hearing for traveling to various locations
  • Must be able to verbally speak to communicate with clients
  • Must be able to sit at workstation and looking at PC for extended periods of time, keyboarding/typing
  • Must have reliable transportation and able to travel to make calls in San Antonio and surrounding areas
