As a Buyer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient procurement of goods, materials, and services that support Verisk’s operational needs. This is a role with real ownership, where you will manage end-to-end purchasing activities and handle more complex or specialized requirements in line with established procurement processes.
You will review purchase requests, identify suppliers, and lead sourcing activities including bidding, evaluation, and contract negotiation, while guiding stakeholders and vendors on procurement processes.
This role requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders in line with negotiated terms, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business needs.
• Review and validate purchase requisitions on timely manner, resolve gaps with stakeholders, and determine the most effective procurement approach.
• Monitor and follow up on purchase orders to ensure delivery timelines, pricing, and terms are met.
• Partner with vendors to resolve issues related to pricing, delivery, quantities, and logistics.
• Manage procurement requests through ServiceNow, including non-catalog purchases such as software licenses, working closely with internal teams.
• Drive consistency across procurement processes, promoting best practices and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Support reporting and analysis, generating insights and recommendations to improve performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen procurement operations and add long-term value.
• 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supplier management.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
• Negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and solve complex problems.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a team environment.
• Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, and Microsoft Office (Oracle will be an asset).
• Adaptability in a dynamic, evolving environment and a proactive, positive approach.
• Fluent English (German is a plus).
