A Little About Us
Höegh Autoliners is a global player in Ro/Ro deep sea transportation services and operates the greenest fleet in this segment. The company owns and operates approx. 40 Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) in global trade systems, making around 3 000 port calls yearly. Managed from a worldwide network of around 16 offices, our main customers are major manufacturers of new cars, heavy machinery and other rolling stock.
Purpose:
The Cargo Enquiry Handler is responsible for evaluating cargo proposals from the commercial team to ensure safe, technically feasible, and compliant handling. This includes specifying equipment requirements, assessing risks, and providing acceptance decisions and securing methods in line with operational and regulatory standards.

Main responsibilities
- Responsible for evaluating proposed cargo against HAL cargo safety standards, acceptance requirements.
- Responsible for providing technical cargo evaluations, risk assessments, and acceptance decisions for cargo enquiries, including high‑risk and non‑standard cargoes.
- Responsible for estimating equipment requirements for relevant cargo enquiries.
- Responsible for providing lashing arrangements and stuffing plan to ensure safe transport.
- Responsible for verification of securing arrangements for high‑risk cargo in the terminal to ensure compliance with approved plans and safety standards.
- Responsible for managing cargo handling cases and data in Salesforce, track performance, drive system improvements, and enabling smooth coordination between Commercial and Operations.
- Responsible for providing accurate documentation, reports, statistics, and performance metrics related to cargo handling enquiries to support operational and management decision‑making.
- Perform ad‑hoc tasks and support continuous improvement initiatives as assigned by the line manager.
- Shall support and comply with company policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, and Quality Management Systems in line with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation
- Experience as Deck Officer on board PCTC or RoRo vessels
- Strong understanding of cargo handling, securing methods, and vessel operations
- Practical knowledge of IMDG regulations and maritime safety standards
- Effective team contributor with the ability to work independently.
- Sound technical judgment with a risk‑based mindset
- Analytical and structured in problem‑solving.
- Communicates clearly and professionally across multicultural stakeholders, remaining firm yet reasonable.
